Logical Functions: IF, IFS, AND & OR

Decision logic, nested conditions, and error handling with IFERROR

Logical functions evaluate conditions and return different values based on whether the test evaluates to TRUE or FALSE.

IF and Modern IFS

=IF(test, value_if_true, value_if_false): Evaluates a single condition.

=IFS(cond1, val1, cond2, val2, ...): Modern function that evaluates multiple conditions sequentially without ugly nested IF statements.

=AND(cond1, cond2): Returns TRUE only if all conditions are satisfied.

=OR(cond1, cond2): Returns TRUE if at least one condition is satisfied.

=IFERROR(formula, fallback): Catches #N/A, #DIV/0!, or #VALUE! errors and returns a clean fallback value.

Multi-Tier Grade Evaluation with IFS and IFERROR
// Multi-condition grading without nesting
=IFS(A2>=90, "A", A2>=80, "B", A2>=70, "C", TRUE, "F")

// Safeguard against division by zero
=IFERROR(A2 / B2, 0)
IFS handles multiple conditions cleanly; IFERROR prevents broken #DIV/0! displays.

Which function catches Excel formula errors (such as `#DIV/0!` or `#N/A`) and displays a clean fallback message instead?
